*Shrug* GW was never supposed to be about money.
But sadly, that's all there's left to do, Grind.

Haven't seen one of these pointless gripefests in awhile.

Go play Maplestory. Might be more to your liking.

Pretty sure there's another half of the game waiting for you, it's called PvP.

PvP? Moving on to a different game? I've said it before and I'll probably say it again many times in the future, but if the game no longer appeals, surely you (and all others with such sentiments) can move on with a clear conscience, knowing that you've gotten your money's worth (and probably a lot more) during the time you enjoyed playing the game?

I've been playing only since the end of February, but I know I've gotten far more than my $115's (Proph GotY, Factions PE and EotN) worth of enjoyment playing through each a couple of times with different characters and will have no problems moving on should I start to get bored (no sign of that yet, except with Minister Cho's Estate and Togo & Yijo's constant babbling about stuff covered in the manual followed by their Leeroying for the rest of the mission ) or if something else happens to catch my eye.

Let's see. People don't make as much cash as they used to. /agree.

But wait, GW has seen a general deflation over the last year. So your GW platinum still goes farther than it used to, so you can buy much more with much less.

The only thing that hasn't deflated is the nigh-unobtainable limited edition minis, the cost of a few titles, and a very small number of vanity skin items. None of which, with the exception of lucky, affect the game at all.

So, as has been pointed out in this and other /whine threads, people are basically complaining that Anet is not sufficiently stroking their inflated egos.

Well since everybody complained about the AFC all the time... instead we have the FIC (Farming Is Crap).

I love the irony of it. But maybe that's just because I don't farm.

You forgot one very important thing that hasn't deflated, and affects the game a great deal.

Skills. The only real way of taking the gold out of the game, less effectively as more and more people hit the "end" where they go for titles and don't need it anymore. You can sometimes save money by buying tomes (though it boggles the mind that people will pay 1k+ for a regular monk tome?) but only if the skill is already unlocked.

I don't care about Elite armor, Destroyer weapons, and what not, but I've taken to farming for ectos in Tombs just so I can afford all the skill upgrades I want to try out. Just "pimping" my ranger for the Nightfall Endgame cost me around 20k. Doesn't seem like much, but before I dedicated one toon to just farming, I only had 40 (and spent most of the other 20k setting up the skills/equip for THAT build.)

Yeah we can't get rich quick without really trying. What was Anet thinking? They owe it to us to give us everything we want to satisfy our 9-year old instant gratification mindsets.

Right?

It does make a difference because booze and sweets are fixed in price thatnks to the trader. Fireworks are likely even more expensive.

One thing that I seriously hate about people here is that they cant accept how other people enjoy playing their game. If someone used to enjoy farming as opposed to killing every enemy in the game, then how did that affect you? Not in any way whatsoever. And dont cry about the economy when you can buy everything that you need to play the game from crafters (No you dont even a +30 HP mod on your sword to play the game either).

You used to be able to play the game by farming if you enjoyed that, but they completely destroyed that fun with LS and AFC. Just like saying that you can enjoy playing the game without ever having to trade with another player.

If LS and AFC were introduced because of the economy, it is a weak excuse because you CAN obtain everthing in the game yourself if you want to without having to pay for it. Farming just made it possible for people that enjoyed buying all the nice skins and expensive armors to work towards doing that.

And someone else farming solo affects you in any way how? It doesnt, just as it doesnt affect you if I H/H everything.
